Upcoming Art Class

Hi everyone! I have an upcoming art class at the Refinery Arts and Spirit Centre in Saskatoon on Tuesday, Feb 27th. There are two spaces left and we’d love to see those spots filled. 🎉🎉

We’ll be creating an accordion book for mixed media art journaling and we’ll have some time to dive into some art journaling as well. You can follow my example in class or you can come prepared with a theme in mind for your journal. We will not have time to fill all the pages but you’ll get started and will go home with some great tips to keep going with it at home.

The accordion journal will look quite similar (before art journaling) but it will have some more pages in it.

You’ll explore a variety of art materials and I’ll demonstrate a number of techniques to teach and inspire you:

• we’ll create the journal

• I’ll show you how to use watercolour with stencils with my easy blurring technique

• we’ll talk about working with a theme

• I’ll show you how you can consider working in layers

• we’ll incorporate a “window” in the journal

• we’ll add simple doodles and lettering with sharpies and gel pens

The class is $45 and all materials will be provided for you. It will run from 7 pm to 9:30 pm in the lower level of the Refinery on Tuesday, Feb 27th.

If you are interested, you can purchase the class online at:

Just scroll down the page until you see my class or you can phone or leave a message with Janice (our wonderful facilitator) at: 306-653-3549.

Address: 607 Dufferin Avenue, Saskatoon - it is beside Emmanuel Anglican Church.

We’ll use some sari ribbon to wrap the journal closed.

Thank you! I hope to see you there. :)

This photo shows how we can journal on both sides of the page. This is an in-progress shot, meaning that watercolour has been applied but there is a lot that can happen after this stage!
