Welcome Here!
Some of you reading this will have recently found out that I was moving websites to this space right here, at: www.aglimpseofjoy.ca. Thanks for finding your way here! I hope you’ll love this new space.
Some of you will remember me, but some of you might be saying, “Heidi, who…? How did I get to be on your email list? I don’t remember.” I haven’t sent many emails out this past year and I hope to do better this year. However, let me take a moment to re-introduce myself.
I’m Heidi Joy Guenther, the artist, art instructor and creative experimenter behind “A Glimpse of Joy”. I am married, have all three of my young men still living at home (ages 15 - 20 years) and am profoundly deaf (I do not sign but I use a hearing aid). I love playing the cello, drinking coffee, reading books and LOVE all things art and creativity.
Some of you will know me from in-person classes that I’ve taught in the Saskatoon, Canada area. Some of you may have found me on Etsy where I’ve been selling digital products for a few years now. Some of you have discovered me on Facebook, on Instagram or have signed up for some online courses or Bible Art Journaling memberships in the last four+ years.
So you might be wondering… what exactly do I do?
That’s a great question. (Smile) Here it is:
I love Bible Art Journaling and Art Journaling in a variety of styles and formats and often share layouts and/or teach about journaling
I enjoy teaching art classes! I’ve taught a variety of art styles and techniques at many venues, mostly in Saskatoon, Canada over the past ten years or so. My next art class at the Refinery in Saskatoon in Feb 2024 (space is filled).
I’ve taught online classes and look forward to getting a variety of courses onto this website over the next little while - some courses are from former websites such as Rock Art Painting, Tag Art, Getting Started with Bible Art Journaling, A Season of Gentle Intentions and more! I’ll let you know when they become available
I occasionally create artwork for commissions (such as Rock Art, paintings, etc) or products such as mugs, stickers, bookmarks, Rock Art (etc) to sell at Kennedy’s Parable, a Christian bookstore in Saskatoon.
I developed a line of products with my artwork on it during 2023. Some of these products (like my stickers) have been sold to customers and friends in my city or through Kennedy’s Parable. But I look forward to allowing a wider audience to see them and have a chance to purchase them as well in my new shop on this website. I look forward to developing more inspirational products for us all to enjoy!
I also take care of the social media and email marketing for Kennedy’s Parable as well (from mid-Aug 2022 to present).
I have been taking cello lessons for some years now - music is important to me 💛 and I think it sets a good example for our boys.
As you can imagine, all this keeps me occupied and makes life interesting. ;) Please feel free to say hi in the comments and let me know a bit about you.
If you made it this far - thank you for reading it, and thank you for checking out my website. Wishing you a lovely day and some great creating time,
Heidi
