Happy Valentine’s
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
We don’t typically do much around here for Valentine’s around here as we have a mostly male household and the elementary school years are long past. But I do like putting up some heart garlands and I enjoy creating heart based artwork (all year round really, not just for Feb 14th).
As I’ve gotten older, my views on Valentine’s Day has certainly changed and now I see it more as an opportunity to express my gratitude and love to those I’m close to rather than giving cards and gifts (even though I tend to be a gifter). We aren’t fans of the typical Valentine’s day commercialism or the pressure it puts on people in multiple ways. Typically my husband and I will celebrate by writing a letter to each other which we keep in a journal (instead of gifting a card). This year we’re going to Knox United Church (a beautiful church in Saskatoon) on the weekend and we’ll experience another of the Candlelight Concerts. This one showcases Vivaldi’s Four Seasons & more. As a cellist myself, I am very much looking forward to this! (Yay!)
Nonetheless, I couldn’t resist creating some heart stencil art and I’ve enjoyed creating it very much. Here’s a picture of it, below.
So fun right? I’m sure that I’ll add more to this journal layout later but for now, I need to let it dry. Plus I’m enjoying how dreamy it looks!
Happy Valentine’s Day. Remember - you are loved.
Heidi
